On Saturday at Aqueduct, the featured race is the $125,000 Rego Park Stakes. Restricted to three-year-olds foaled in New York, the six-furlong contest has drawn a field of six colts and geldings.

Regal Minister has been installed as the morning line favorite at odds of 9-5 for trainer Mark Hennig. A chestnut son of Posse, he broke his maiden at first asking and went on to win the Notebook Stakes in his second start. He will return to a sprint distance after finishing fifth in his first try around two turns last time out.  He has been training steadily for his sophomore debut and the stakes winning colt will break from post position two under jockey Manuel Franco.

Deficit Hawk to make stakes debut after maiden win

Richard Violette, Jr. will send out the second choice on the morning line, Deficit Hawk, at odds of 2-1. A dark bay son of Midnight Lute purchased for $175,000 as a juvenile, he broke his maiden in his career debut against restricted state-bred competition on January 2. He defeated a field of eleven rivals and will make his stakes debut. Kendrick Carmouche will be aboard for the first time and they will break from post position five.

Saratoga Dreamer switching to the main track

Also in the field at morning line odds of 4-1 is Saratoga Dreamer for trainer Christophe Clement. The chestnut son of Elusive Quality will be making his first start on dirt after racing on turf in both prior starts. He broke his maiden in his debut effort at Saratoga and finished eighth and last in the Summer Stakes (G2). He returns to the races off of a four-month freshening and will break from the outside post under Junior Alvarado.
