Rachel’s Valentina has been tabbed as the morning line favorite at odds of 5-2 for trainer Todd Pletcher. Bred and owned by Stonestreet Stables, the bay daughter of Bernardini is the second foal from superstar mare Rachel Alexandra. She broke her maiden in her career debut at Saratoga by two lengths as the heavy favorite in August. John Velazquez, aboard for her first start, will be back in the irons and they will break from post two.
Stakes debut for expensive Constellation
Second choice at morning line odds of 3-1 on the morning line is Constellation for trainer Steve Asmussen. A chestnut daughter of Bellamy Road, she fetched $800,000 at auction earlier in the year and delivered handily in her first career start at Saratoga to break her maiden by 4 ½ lengths as the favorite over nine rivals. Irad Ortiz, Jr. will be aboard and they will break from post position five.
Banree trying for first stakes score

After breaking her maiden in her debut, she took on males and finished fifth in the Tremont Stakes and was last seen finishing second in the Schuylerville Stakes (G3). Rafael Hernandez has the mount from the outside.
