Pure Sensation has been tabbed as the morning line favorite at odds of 3-1 in the wide open field for trainer Christophe Clement. A five-year-old son of Zensational bred and owned by Patricia Generazio, the gray gelding has been on the board in ten of his fourteen starts and is a four-time winner. He notched his first graded stakes victory last year and has been on the shelf since an eighth-place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1). John Velazquez will be aboard and they will break from post four.
Power Alert (AUS) making second start off layoff
Second choice at morning line odds of 4-1 is Power Alert (AUS) for trainer Brian Lynch. A six-year-old son of Alert (ARG), he has won seven of his twenty starts and is a graded stakes winner. He made his first start off of a six-month layoff last time out and finished second in the Turf Dash Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs. Julian Leparoux will be aboard and they are scheduled to break from post position ten.
Night Officer trying for second career stakes win
Also in the field at morning line odds of 12-1 is Night Officer for trainer Tom Albertrani. An eight-year-old son of Officer, the bay gelding is a seven-time winner and was a stakes winner in 2013. His last victory came against claiming competition last May but he has been on the board against stakes competition in three of his last four starts. Joel Rosario will be in the irons and they will break from post position nine.
