On Saturday at Gulfstream Park West, Sunshine Millions Preview Day will continue with the $100,000 Millions Preview Distaff. The seven-furlong contest has drawn a field of nine Florida-bred fillies and mares.
Flutterby headlines the field as the heavy favorite at odds of 4-5 for trainer Jerry Bozzo. A four-year-old daughter of Congrats, she has been on the board thirteen times and is a six-time winner. She was second in the Millions Preview Distaff last year and ultimately wound up third in the Millions Distaff. She is coming into this race off of back to back wins against stakes competition and is scheduled to break from post position eight under jockey Luca Panici.
My Sweet Dove looking for second career stakes win
Second choice at morning line odds of 6-1 is My Sweet Dove for trainer Martin Wolfson. A four-year-old daughter of Hello Broadway, the chestnut filly is a four-time winner and was a stakes winner as a juvenile. She has two wins so far this year and is stepping back up to stakes company after a runner-up effort in an allowance race. Jonathan Gonzalez will be aboard and they will break from the rail.
Step up in class for Legal Laura
Also in the field at morning line odds of 8-1 is Legal Laura for trainer Kathleen O’Connell. Bred and owned by Gilbert Campbell, the four-year-old bay daughter of Wildcat Heir is a half-sister to graded stakes winner Uncle Vinny. She has won four of her fourteen starts and is trying to earn her first black type victory. Antonio Gallardo will be in the irons and they will break from post position seven.
The race offers 50-20-10-5 Road to the Kentucky Derby points to the top four finishers. That 50-point bonanza to the winner means whoever crosses the wire first is virtually guaranteed a spot in the Kentucky […]
The field is set for the 2019 Preakness Stakes, and looking at the 13 rivals on paper is enough to make any serious handicapper's mouth water. There's simply a ton of betting value here.
Post positions have been drawn, and the oddsmakers have instilled Omaha Beach as the morning line favorite for the running of the 145th Kentucky Derby. The race goes Saturday, May 4th, with 20 runners set to battle 1 1/4 miles on the Churchill Downs dirt track, chasing a purse of $3 million and the first leg of the US Triple Crown.
The defending champ is back in the field for the 2016 Arlington Million on Saturday, but he's being overshadowed by a strong group of foreign invaders.
