Clement Saddles Favorites in Both Divisions of Little Silver

The race 8 version is led by 3/l favorite Stormy Regatta, who will take on nine rivals including one from the also-eligible list. Hailing from the Christophe Clement barn, Stormy Regatta broke her maiden in the claiming ranks April 3 at Gulfstream, after being trounced in her debut against straight maidens. After the winning effort, the daughter of Midshipman came right back to defeat allowance foes at Gulfstream April 18 before returning to finish third in the Wild Applause Stakes June 14 at Belmont Park. Joe Bravo will handle the mount for Clement, with the filly set to break from post 3.

Pine Needles takes on lesser foes  

The race 10 version of the Little Silver also features a field of ten, including two from the also-eligible list. Clement will also saddle the morning line favorite in the second division with 5/2 choice Pine Needles. The filly returns to a more suitable level of competition after finishing ninth in the Grade 1 Belmont Oaks July 4. Prior to that effort, Pine Needles had not finished out of the money in four starts, including a second and third-place effort in the Memories of Silver Stakes and Wonder Again Stakes respectively.
